The criteria for these “favorite songs” were that they had to be new (released for the first time during December 2019 through November 13, 2020), they had to be originals (not covers), and they must be available for sale or streaming in the United States. Their educated ears are a reliable guide to the best new songwriting for kids. All year long, these folks consider (and really listen to) several hundred new children’s songs. Wow, were we excited to get their votes! All in all, these radio people chose 146 new favorite songs from this crazy year. Responses came quickly from 25 radio professionals. We asked dozens of hosts and producers from radio shows for kids to pick their favorite tunes from the past year.
